The Kansas City Chiefs have finished up the second day of the draft, having made three picks through the first three rounds. On day one, they traded up to land the top cornerback in the class in LSU's Mansoor Delane, and then waited as Clemson's star defensive tackle Peter Woods fell right into their laps. To start day two, the Chiefs decided to stick near the top of the second round and pick at No. 40 and chose defensive end R. Mason Thomas from Oklahoma.

Now, the Chiefs head into the most valuable portion of the draft: Day 3. Teams that can hit on day three picks are the teams that win Super Bowls, and Kansas City's ability to win in the later rounds of the draft has played a huge part in their success.

So who are the best players available for the Chiefs heading into the last day of the draft?

1. Bryce Lance • North Dakota State • WR

The Chiefs are desperate for a WR at this point in the draft, and with a massive run on pass catchers late on day two, their options are thinning out. Lance has all the tools the Chiefs love and need at receiver, with a big body and elite movement skills, plus blazing speed. He has a limited route tree, but he can create plays with the ball and would be a great pickup for the Chiefs tomorrow afternoon.

The Chiefs likely want to focus on the offense after spending three picks on the defense so far in the draft, but the prospect of Keionte Scott in Steve Spagnuolo's defense is hard to pass up. Scott was far and away the best nickel corner in the nation this season, and his play was a huge part of Miami's success this season. It is a shock to me that he is still on the board, and the Chiefs should heavily consider him if he is still there at any point tomorrow.

3. Dametrious Crownover • Texas A&M • T

If the Chiefs were ever serious about building in the trenches, there's no doubt Crownover could supply the help they are looking for. I have been banging the drum for Crownover all offseason, and his tools are exactly what the Chiefs should be looking for from a right tackle. Crownover brings elite size and power to the right side of the line, and he has the potential to be a starter in the NFL for many years to come.

4. Jalon Kilgore • South Carolina • Nickel

Again, it is hard to imagine the Chiefs will go away from the offense early on day three, but Kilgore is an interesting option. Steve Spagnuolo had a lot of success with L'Jarius Sneed, who is a very similar prospect to Kilgore, and if he sees the similarities, he could start banging the drum. Kilgore has the tools and skills to be a very good and versatile NFL DB and should very much be on the table at any point tomorrow.

5. Reggie Virgil • Texas Tech • WR

Virgil has been one of my favorite receivers for some time now, and his versatility is something the Chiefs could really use in their WR room. He has great movement skills and a size profile that translates perfectly to the NFL. Virgil is good with the ball in his hands and can line up all over the field, which is exactly the type of guy the Chiefs' WR room has been needing. He would provide an immediate offensive boost and would be a steal on the third day of the draft.

6. Jermod McCoy • Tennessee • CB

At some point, someone is going to take the plunge. The question is who, and to that I say, why not us? The Chiefs already landed a top-shelf corner in this draft, and I understand that it may feel silly to take another one. But McCoy was maybe the best CB in the nation in 2024, and as long as he still has his legs attached to his body, it is hard to imagine there is justification for him to fall much further. If the Chiefs land him, and he is ever healthy, he and Delane could make for one of the best CB duos in the NFL immediately when they land at KCI.

The best of the rest
